The Challenge
The goal is to design an intuitive yet novel file manager for XR devices that fully leverages the strengths of the medium. The interface should support a wide range of input methods—such as controllers, hand tracking, gaze, and neural bands—while remaining cohesive and easy to use. Drawing from familiar affordances and interaction patterns found in traditional flat file managers, the design reimagines these concepts in three dimensions, making purposeful use of space, depth, and scale to create an experience that feels both natural and uniquely suited to XR.
